China to raise jet fuel surcharge once more Aug. 31, 2006 The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said it would raise the jet fuel surcharge once more due to the soaring jet fuel price. The surcharge will rise up to 60 yuan (7.5US$) on domestic flights of under 800 kilometers per passenger from 30 yuan previously. The surcharge for routes over 800 kilometers will be increased to 100 yuan (12.5 us dollar) from 60 yuan.
Luxurious Tourist Train to Tibet to open in July Next Year Aug. 15, 2006 To meet the great demand for train travel to Tibet, China is scheduled to open a deluxe tourist train to Tibet in next July. The train will start from Xining but no details were given.
