Catholic church
The Catholic church is the largest of its kind in Qingdao for Catholic services.The Gothic style church was designed by German architect Alfred Frederic Pohl and completed in 1934.
Lutheran Church
The Byzatium architectural design Lutheran church was completed in 1910,the first facility constructed by German settlers in Qingdao.
Mt.Xinhaoshan Park
The television tower with a revovling top floor is located in the center of the park.Visitors can view the coastal scenery and visit the exhibiton of human communication history.
Former German Governor Official Residence
The 4-story castle style building was completed in 1908 and was used as the official residence of the former German Governor.
Mt.Xiaoyushan Park
The park is situated on top of Mt.Xiaoyushan on the bank of the Huiquan Bay.On the peak of the hill,two pavilions have been constructed overlooking the beaches.
Zhongshan Park
Zhongshan Park is the largest park in Qingdao open to the public.Seasonal folk festivals,such as the Cherry Blossom Show in spring,the Lantern Show in summer and the Chrysanthemum Show in fall,are held in the park.
Tsingtao Beer Museum
Tsingtao Beer Museum is China's first facility where selected Tsingtao brand beers and brewing techniques are on display.There is also a bar and a shop in the museum.
Huashi Building
The Huashi Building was designed by a Russian architect and was completed in 1932.The building incorporates Greek and Roman as well as Gothic architectural styles and is believed to be a typical castle construction combing Western architectural arts.
Zhanqiao Pier
Zhanqiao Pier is the symbol of Qingdao.It was originally completed in 1891 to be used as a dock and was expened by German colonists in 1897.At the end of the dyke linking the pier and the bank is a traditional two-story Chinese style pavilion,Huilan'ge with overchanging eaves and an octagon roof.
Xiaoqingdao Isle
Xiaoqingdao lsle is also named Qinlsle because the geographic shape of the isle is like Qin,A ladle shaped Chinese musical instrument .In 1990,German colonists erected a beacon on The isle to assist navigation.
Seaeide Pedestrian Walk
The Binhai Pedestrian along the coastline between the western and eastern downtown areas of Qingdao.This pedestrian path is an ideal place to watch sailing and sailboarding competitions and training.
China Navy Museum
The 40,000 square meter display is China's largest naval museum.The main exhibits are souveniers of Chinese navy history and de-commissioned Chinese navy weapons,warships and submarines including the destroyers used in the Second World War.
Underwater World
Qingdao Underwater World is composed of the three sections of an intertidal zone,an underwater tunnel and a 4-story underground aquarium displaying marine species and marine science.
Yulin Valley
The Yulin Valley is an area for animal and environmental protection where one can see tiger,bear,peacock and parrot circus performances.
Jiu Shui Shiba Tan
Jiu Shui (9 rivers) and Shiba Tan(18 pools) area located in Mt.Laoshan has been developed for tourism.The areas natural beauty is reflected in the many mountain springs.It is also believed that in Chinese culture,this area was being referred to the reflection of Lao Chuang Thought on harmony and unification between the nature and human beings.
Laoshan Jufeng
Laoshan Jufeng,the main peak in Mt.Laoshan,is 1133 meters above the sea level and is the highest peak along China's 18,000 coastline. The area has a well protected natural environment and religious architecture and is a famous tourist areawidely believed by Chinese thinkers an example to translate the through of Zhouyi,the origin of Taoism and Chinese leading religious theory. |
