Entertainment in Hangzhou

There are lots of resorts for entertainment and leisure in Hangzhou. Numerous classical and elegant teahouses,fashionable and top grade coffee bars, bars of western style,exciting and romantic entertainment cities,night clubs and disco halls,and fashionable golf,tennis,fitness,hot spring,foot message have provided numerous choices of entertainment and leisure in Hangzhou. Hangzhou is known as the Eastern Capital of leisure for its particular leisure atmosphere.

Hangzhou has a surprising amount of good little bars and clubs for a city of this size. The most popular evening past time remains, however, the typical Chinese experience of walking around or across the West Lake with your beloved in the moonlight.

The city's nightlife at the moment tends to center around the Paradise Rock bar which is right next to the Overseas Chinese Hotel on Hubin Lu. The drinks in this bar are cheap, the decor is decent, the food is tasty and the live music is usually excellent. Hangzhou is currently producing some of China's best live musicians and any night out on the town here will encounter either a planned or impromptu "jamming session". It makes for a great atmosphere in the bars and clubs and there is a great relationship here between the sizeable foreign student population and the local kids. There are numerous other bars around town worth checking out including the Lake of Dreams on the southeast corner of the lake and the New L.A. Disco on Qing Chun Lu. This place even has a bouncy floor.

Local Operas
Shaoxing Opera,the second largest local opera only next to Peking Opera. Noted plays include Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai,The Legend of Lady White Snake,The Romance of the Western Chamber, A Dream of Red Mansions and The Jade Hairpin,etc.

Theaters
Hangzhou has a variety of theaters and the traditional large-sized theaters are replaced by movie supermarkets with multiple halls or small-sized showing halls.There is a large choice of movies projected in cycles.There are also all-night movies.An ordinary ticket of a single movie costs about RMB 15(except latest and great movies).

Teahouses and Storytelling Houses
Teahouses in Hangzhou have a long history.As early as in the Song Dynasty,teahouses prevailed all over Hangzhou.Nowadays,Hangzhou sees a more popular tea cultures with over 700 teahouses of different flavors.Shuguang Road is a famous Tea House Street in Hangzhou.

Bars
Prevailing all over Hangzhou,bars are mainly situated at Nanshan Road,Hubin Road and Yellow Dragon Sports Center. Bars with different flavors,hustles and bustles following Western bar culture,small rock bands,retty beer promotion ladies,people with different colors and world brand beers have formed an impressive bar scene for Hangzhou.

Coffee Bars
Now there are over 300 Coffee Bars in Hangzhou. Most of them are top grade and in fashion with unique decoration and furnishings.Located on Nanshan Road are the most luxurious coffee bars and Beishan Road gathers coffee bars with the most beautiful scenery.There are other large or small coffee bars scattering over Hangzhou.

Entertainment Cities,Night Clubs,Song and Dance Halls and Disco Squares
Hangzhou has a developed entertainment trade with endless newly-emerging entertainment activities. There are hundreds of entertainment cities,night clubs,song and dance halls and disco squares ,in which about 10 are of super large scales. When evening comes,the city of Hangzhou is brilliantly illuminated with shining neon lights which bring a beautiful scene for the night of Heaven on Earth.

Recreation Fitness,Foot Message and Korean Style Bone-relaxing
Fitness,body building,foot message and bone-relaxing now have become an indispensable component of the leisure life of Hangzhou people. Fitness clubs prevail in Hangzhou city and the almost 100 places of hot spring, foot message and bone-relaxing have become an attractive view of Hangzhou.When you feel tired after long time of walking or have had an enough tour ,you can go to enjoy foot message,body message or Koreanstyle bone-relaxing.

Hangzhou also has a few other entertainment attractions including two championship level tennis courts and a Golf club. As usual in the smaller cities in China, it's worth checking out the big hotels such as The Shangri-la to see if they have any events organized.
